South Florida singer Diane Ward was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011. At the time, she had already begun production on her upcoming release, Beautiful Ways.
Although she had already written the songs prior to receiving the diagnosis, her emotional delivery on the album is a product of her battle with the disease. Today she shares her latest single "Satellite" exclusively with Music Times.
"I initially had the idea of writing 'Satellite' the day after I fell asleep while watching a television show about celebrity stalkers," Ward told Music Times about the song.
The main character in the song is portrayed as being this tragic soul who is totally preoccupied and consumed by the sheer existence of someone who simply has no idea of their feelings towards them, or that they even exist for that matter.
